Chemical fixation of the sludge at the Southern
Copper Site, Military Road, Port Kembla.
Our Involvment:
Developing
and conducting a personal monitoring programme for employees at the
site. The purpose of the monitoring programme was to assess the potential
exposures of the employees to dust from the fixation process and a
range of heavy metals present in the sludge. The monitoring programme
involved the collection and analysis of inspirable dust samples from
employees at the site. The samples were analysed for a range of heavy
metals.
